Brief yet boring history

The band started its journey in Nastola, Finland around 1999 or so with Henry (guitar), Jarno (drums) and Timo (bass) as founding members. We were just playing some riffs after school with school's gear. Then we got ourselves a rehearsing place, offered by our town, cheap rent, electricity. We played there some Metallica and Megadeth songs/riffs/stuff. Some time passed, Matias (2nd guitar) from school joined yet unnamed band and we decided to call it Evil Obsession. Well, obvious goal was creating our own songs and we made one very raw demo in 2001. It contained four songs quite melodic stuff, good riffs but no vocals. End of the chapter, not much about that demo.

We weren't pleased with year 2001 demo as it lacked balls. So we took next step, influenced by Kotiteollisuus and Motörhead. Simplier riffs and drop tuning, a recipe for some real stuff. As a new style for us was discovered, we also changed band name to Alecrate, describing our music precisely.

Time for military service 2003-2004, not much happened during that time. But seed for a new demo thing was sown anyway. By the end of year 2004, recordings begun and in spring 2005 the defining Alecrate demo was done. We used computer and some equipment from school to record the whole thing. And it went pretty well after all.

Some more time passed, Timo (bass) and Matias (2nd guitar) left the band. 50% of the band continued, but not much did happen at that time. Then Simo joined in, thanks to Matias who knew him. Lineup changed as Jarno took over bass duties and Simo drums. Later on also Ari Timonen joined the band.

And so Alecrate is again a complete four-member band. And breathing heavily.
